A Few Template Tweaks

I have made some minor adjustments to the current template (whiteness). Although it contained a handful images, I was not pleased with the overall loading time of the pages. The culprit, believe it or not, was the blog list icons. Just to load a bunch of 16 by 16 pixel Blogger icons, several HTTP calls that took forever were being made. Removing the icons solved the problem.



Additionally, the post pages are now loading the sidebar; with a twist, of course. Except the search box and the Technorati fave button, widgets alternative depending if you are on the main page or looking at an individual post.

Third, the back links (not that I have any, so far) container failed to download possibly because of a misplaced CSS element. I have temporarily moved the offending bit right after the closing skin tag. Not an elegant solution, but it has at least solved the problem. I will keep it there until I figure out its proper place in the style sheet.
